Who is eligible?

Indian citizens resident in India, holding a first-class degree from a recognised Indian university, and under the published age limit at the time of applying. Applicants must not already hold a foreign degree or have studied abroad. Some fields — including medicine, engineering-only programmes and MBA — fall outside the scope.

What the award covers

  • Tuition fees
  • Living costs
  • One-way travel
  • Health insurance up to the published ceiling

Amounts are revised by the awarding body each cycle. Treat this as the shape of the award, not a quotation.

Documents you will need

  • Statement of purpose
  • Transcripts
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Proof of admission or application to an approved institution

Worth knowing before you apply

The excluded-subject list is unusually specific and is the most common reason applications are rejected at screening. Read it before applying.

Covering what the scholarship does not

A partial award reduces the bill rather than removing it. Work out the remaining figure first, then decide how to fund it — that is the number a lender assesses, not the headline fee.
