Funding you don't repay
188 schemes for study in India and abroad. Where we have confirmed the current cycle against the awarding body, the page carries the deadline, eligibility rules and document list; where we have not, it says so rather than guessing at dates a student would plan around.
Which course leads to work where?
Rather than vacancy counts that are stale the day after they are written, these pages list each government's own published shortage occupations, the post-study work visa and how long it lasts, and the job portals employers in that country actually use.
Work out the repayment before you borrow
Move the sliders to see the monthly instalment and the total interest at a given rate. The result is arithmetic on the numbers you enter โ an illustration, not an offer.
Compare lenders side by side on interest rate, collateral requirement, moratorium period and processing fee โ then bring those numbers here.
Repayment estimator
Illustration only. Your actual rate depends on the lender, the co-applicant's income and whether the loan is secured; most education loans also carry a moratorium during the course, which this simple calculation does not model.

University & Admission
What is BrightEduAid?
A higher-education directory. We list 6,226 institutions across 17 countries, 23,191 courses, 188 scholarships and 12 entrance exams, alongside side-by-side comparisons of education loan products. Browsing all of it is free and needs no account.
How do I search for colleges on BrightEduAid?
Use the search bar on the homepage to find colleges by name, city, country or course. You can also browse by discipline (Engineering, MBA, Medicine, Law, Data Science) or by study destination (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, and more). Each college page shows verified tuition fees (where available), programmes offered, QS ranking and admission details.
Are the tuition fees on this site accurate?
Where a fee is shown, yes โ we publish a figure only after reading it off the institution's own published fee page, and every such page links to that source so you can check it. 0 institutions have been through that check so far. The rest are listed without a fee rather than with an estimate, because an invented number is worse than no number when you are deciding how much to borrow. Always confirm on the university's page before paying.
How do I compare two universities side by side?
Scroll to the "Side-by-side fee comparison" section on the homepage. Pick two institutions from the dropdowns and click "Compare tuition & programmes". The table shows location, QS ranking, published tuition, fee period, listed programmes and a link to the university's own fee page. Only institutions with verified fees appear in the comparison.
Do I need an account to browse colleges?
No. The directory, fee comparisons and country guides are fully open. A free account unlocks additional fee breakdowns, admission requirement details and the ability to save colleges to your shortlist. We never charge students for using the site.
Is BrightEduAid only for students in India?
No. The team is based in Hyderabad, but the directory covers institutions in 17 countries and the guidance applies wherever you are applying from. Indian students get the most value from our loan comparison and scholarship sections.
Scholarships & Exams
Which entrance exam do I need for studying abroad?
Usually two: an English test (IELTS or TOEFL) and, depending on the programme, an aptitude test (GRE for most master's courses, GMAT for MBA, SAT for undergraduate, LSAT for US law). Our exam pages list the current fee, the format, how long a score stays valid and the official booking site for each of the 12 exams we cover.
What is the difference between IELTS and TOEFL?
Both test English proficiency and are accepted by most universities worldwide. IELTS is more popular in the UK, Australia and Canada; TOEFL is preferred in the USA. IELTS has a face-to-face speaking section; TOEFL speaking is recorded. Check your target university's requirements โ most accept both.
When should I start preparing for entrance exams?
Ideally 6โ12 months before your intended intake. IELTS/TOEFL scores are valid for 2 years; GRE/GMAT for 5 years; SAT for 5 years. Plan backwards from your application deadline: book the exam 3โ4 months before the deadline to allow time for a retake if needed.
How do I find scholarships on BrightEduAid?
Visit the Scholarships section to browse 188 schemes for study in India and abroad. Each listing shows the award amount, eligibility criteria, deadline (where verified) and a link to the official application page. Filter by country, study level or award type.
Are the scholarship deadlines on this site up to date?
Where we have confirmed the current cycle against the awarding body, the page carries the deadline, eligibility rules and document list. Where we have not verified it, the page says so rather than guessing at dates a student would plan around. Always check the official scholarship page before applying.
Can I apply for multiple scholarships at once?
Yes. Most scholarships are independent of each other. You can apply for government scholarships (like Fulbright-Nehru, Chevening), university-specific awards, and private foundation grants simultaneously. Check each scholarship's terms โ some require you to declare other funding.
Education Loans
Can you guarantee a loan without collateral?
No, and neither can anyone else. Whether a loan needs security, what it costs and how much you can borrow are decided by the lender against your course, your institution and your co-applicant's income. What we do is show the published terms of each lender on our panel โ interest rate, collateral requirement, moratorium period and processing fee โ so you can compare them before you apply.
How do I compare education loans on BrightEduAid?
Visit the Education Loans section to compare lenders on interest rate, collateral requirement, moratorium period and processing fee. Use the EMI calculator on the homepage to estimate your monthly repayment at different loan amounts and tenures. The calculator uses a representative rate of 9.2% p.a. โ your actual rate will depend on the lender and your profile.
What is the maximum education loan amount available?
Loan limits vary by lender. Some banks offer up to โน75 lakhs for overseas master's programmes without collateral, while others require security for amounts above โน7.5 lakhs. The exact limit depends on the course, the university, your co-applicant's income and your credit history. Compare lenders on our platform to see each one's published limits.
What documents do I need for an education loan?
Typical documents include: academic transcripts and mark sheets, admission/offer letter from the university, passport-sized photographs, identity proof (Aadhaar/PAN), address proof, income proof of co-applicant (salary slips, ITR), and bank statements. Our loan pages list the full document checklist for each lender.
What is a moratorium period on an education loan?
A moratorium is a grace period during which you don't have to repay the loan โ typically the course duration plus 6โ12 months after completion. Interest may still accrue during this period (simple interest is usually capitalised). Compare moratorium terms across lenders on our platform.
Do you charge students for using the loan comparison?
No. The loan comparison, EMI calculator and all guidance on BrightEduAid are completely free for students. We never charge processing fees, application fees, or hidden counseling commissions. Our service is funded by our banking partners, not by students.
